Packing List

Laundry: Laundry will be done once each week by cabins, so please pack enough clothing to last at least one full week. All campers should bring a laundry bag in which to accumulate soiled clothing; the camp cannot provide these.

 

Your child’s name should be written on each piece of clothing with a laundry marker to minimize loss. All unclaimed clothing will be donated to charity at the end of the season.

 

‣ Sleeping bag and a warm blanket (the nights can get cold)
‣ 1 pillow
‣ 2 pillowcases
‣ 1 top sheet
‣ 1 camp uniform (please go here for further details)
‣ 1 dozen pairs of underwear
‣ 1 dozen pairs of socks
‣ 10 t-shirts
‣ 7 tank tops/sleeveless shirts
‣ 8 pairs of shorts
‣ 3 pairs of jeans
‣ 2 swimsuits (tankini or 1 piece for girls, no bikinis)
‣ Clothing for church (2 dresses/skirts for girls, collared shirts, and nice pants for boys)
‣ Clothing for dances (1-2 nice dresses for girls, nice polo-type/dress shirt for boys)
‣ 2 older long-sleeved shirts to wear in the woods
‣ 2 long-sleeved shirts for colder weather (one black for night games
‣ 3 sweatshirts
‣ 2 pairs of sweatpants
‣ 1 sweater
‣ 1 light jacket
‣ 1 warm jacket
‣ 1 raincoat or poncho
‣ 1 hat or cap
‣ 2 pairs of sandals
‣ 2 pairs of flip-flops, shower shoes, or other waterproof shoes
‣ 3 pairs of sneakers - for hiking, being in the woods, extra (please note, one pair will likely get very dirty/muddy)
‣ 2 hand towels
‣ 2 bath towels, 1 beach towel
‣ Washcloths/loofahs
‣ Personal items: comb, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, sunscreen, carry-all to hold all items
‣ Insect repellant
‣ Menthol Free Shaving cream (optional- there may be an occasional “shaving cream” battle)
‣ 1 laundry bag
‣ 4 bandanas
‣ 1 decent-sized, good-quality flashlight (please pack EXTRA batteries)
‣ $15-$20 that will be kept in the Camp Bank for Camp Store Purchase (optional)
Don’t forget to pack a smile!

**Important Note** Please DO NOT send your camper’s best clothing or prized possessions to camp with him or her.

The “Do Not Pack” Checklist

 The following items are not allowed at camp. If your camper brings any of these items with them, they will be confiscated at the beginning of camp and returned upon departure from camp. ORPR camp is not responsible for any valuables which are brought to camp.

 

Please ensure that you leave the following items at home:

‣ Pets
‣ Cells phones, televisions, electronic games, iPads, laptops, MP3 players, or similar items
‣ Electronic hair appliances including blow dryers and curling irons
‣ Jewelry and other valuables you would rather not see lost
‣ Immodest apparel
‣ Fireworks and other dangerous items
‣ Knives, guns, or weapons of any kind
‣Cigarettes or alcohol or Illegal substances (campers found with any of these will be sent home immediately)
‣ Dangerous attitudes – such as aggression and boredom

Dress Code:

Please note that Camp policy requires that attire at camp must be always appropriate and modest. Please be reminded that ORPR Camp is first and foremost a church camp.
